Chapter Fifteen

“Gotcha,” Jaxson grabbed Kyra up from behind. She was trying to run from him, but he’d only intercepted her and still caught her in his arms. He kissed all over her face and neck while she giggled.

“Told you I would catch you,” he said.

“Eh, I let you off easy,” she smiled. Jaxson looked down into her eyes, feeling like he was blushing even though physically you shouldn’t be able to see it.

“You’re lucky we’re out here,” he warned.

“I would be eating my chocolate chip.”

“Save the chocolate chips for later. Meeting time,” Kellan said walking by them. Kyra and Jaxson snickered.

“Coming,” Kyra sang. Jaxson held her around the waist and followed behind Kellan to the meeting room. Mira was lurking in the tunnels just looking at them. Jaxson paid her no mind, and neither did Kyra. He didn’t want the drama, so he was happy for that.

“You go inside I gotta talk to Tristan,” Jaxson said kissing Kyra on the cheek. Kyra kissed him back and went into the room.

“What’s up?” Tristan asked leaning against the door. The day his brothers found out that he and Kyra knocked boots still rang hard in his memory. They were all happy for him, but yet still there was a part of Jaxson that wasn’t satisfied. He wasn’t satisfied with the fact that she wasn’t really his. Yes, they weren’t mates, but he wanted to be much more than just fuck buddies.

“It’s about you and Chloe.”

“Who?!” Gemma popped out of the meeting room, her eyes ablaze with the power of her animal.

“Would you relax?” Tristan kissed his mate on the mouth before turning her around and spanking her bottom. He pushed her into the room and looked at Jaxson.

“Sorry,” he smiled.

“What about Chloe?”

“Well, how did you decide that you were gonna be with her knowing she wasn’t your mate?” Tristan shrugged.

“I think it was more so for the security of commitment. I didn’t want her fucking anyone else, and she didn’t want me fucking anyone else. So we made that commitment and voila, relationship status. We both didn’t see any problem with it. Of course, she’s still upset that I found my mate, but she’ll get over it the moment she finds her mate.”

“Right. Thanks.” Tristan patted him on the shoulder before going into the meeting room. Jaxson stood where he was for a moment. He had no problem being in a relationship with Kyra. The only trouble was that when they had to break up because she found her mate; Jaxson wasn’t so sure he could get over it because he wouldn’t just be able to find his mate.

“Jaxson!” He stopped from going into the room at Mira’s call. He turned to look at her.

“Hey, what’s up?”

“Just wanted to ask what you’re doing after the meeting? I thought we could go to the hot springs and spend some time together.” That constant battle he had in his head when Mira was around ceased to exist anymore. His head was crystal clear. Yes, she was still an attractive she-wolf, but he desired nothing of her or from her.
